Welcome to Sordid Soup Records

We launched Sordid Soup Records in 2008 with the goal of being able to release independently both physical and digital recordings throughout Europe and the wider world. Sordid Soup Records believes that good music should not be compromised by the ethics or financial pressure of the music business or business partners. To that end we hope we have succeeded in creating something really special and tangible for the modern day world of 2009 with this our debut release – Rising Tide of Conformity by Peyoti for President.

Our label is completely run by the Collective, 'Peyoti for President' and friends of the band, all of whom work (for the time being at least) giving their services for free.

Buy Direct!!

You can buy Sordid Soup Records music at Amazon, itunes, HMV and many of the smaller Independent record shops, but you can also buy direct from us here at Sordid Soup Records by mail order. Why would I you say? Well for the simple reason that buy buying direct we will (if requested by you) have the band sign the CD with their individual scrawls. You'll also know that buy buying direct, the band/label receive a much higher proportion of the sales money (on average 50% more) which then further enables us to make more records and pay the people involved..!

Distribution

We distribute through our good friends & partner, Proper Distribution in the UK, the largest fully independent distributor. Through them, we also distribute to Rough Trade in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and have distribution deals for most European countries. For the wider world you can order direct from us here for the time being although we hope to have distribution agreements in North America , Canada and Japan in the near future.
